Who am I?
Am I that little girl
Who hides behind her mother's legs
And peeks shyly at you
And hides again if you smile at her...
Am I that woman
Who pulls her girl from behind her legs
And onto her lap, pats her hair down
And smiles indulgently back at you...
Am I that girl, sitting quietly in the corner
With her eyes full of dreams
And her book forgotten carelessly at her side...
Or that girl dancing alone to the music
Oblivious to the world's eyes
Who invites you without saying
To join her in her revelry...
Am I that girl
Held in the guy's arms
With her eyes closed,
And smile on her face
Content and loved...
Am I that hostess
Fluttering from one person to the next
Barely stopping to breathe
And lighting up the room with her presence...
So who am I?
Standing in front of you,
A homogenous mixture of them all,
Whose eyes still hold shyness
And hands still speak of care
The dreams still surround my soul
And music still flows in my veins
Love still wraps me safe
And light still shines from me....
Do you recognize me now?
